Hepcidin, soluble transferrin receptor and IL-6 levels in obese children and adolescents with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus/impaired glucose tolerance and their association with obstructive sleep apnea

ConclusionsHigher IL-6 levels were associated with both glycemic status and OSA. No differences in body iron regulator levels were found in obese patients with T2DM/IGT compared to those without or in those with OSA compared to those without. Further longitudinal studies in larger population samples are warranted.
