Reappraisal and new observations on atrial tachycardia ablated from the non-coronary aortic sinus of Valsalva: authors' reply

We thank Madaffari and his colleagues for the interest in our recent publication inEuropace regarding the ablation of atrial tachycardias from the non-coronary sinus of the aortic root.1 Perhaps the key statement in their letter reads ‘We agree with the analysis done by Markowitz’. The ‘analysis’ performed by Markowitz,2 however, was an editorial commentary on the investigation performed by Pap and colleagues, to which Madaffari and his associates also refer.3 In his ‘analysis’, Markowitz makes the key statement that ‘a detailed understanding of anatomic relationships can suggest novel techniques of catheter ablation’. In this regard, therefore, we are in agreement with both Madaffari and colleagues, and obviously also with Markowitz. In fact, we did det ail the specific anatomic relationships that underscored our chosen approach of ablating from the non-coronary sinus.4
