Breast and Tumour Volume Measurements in Breast Cancer Patients Using 3-D Automated Breast Volume Scanner Images

Conclusions3-D US showed a high association with gold standard WDM for the preoperative assessment of breast volume and the histopathological measurement of tumour volume. 3-D US is an patient-friendly preoperative available technique to calculate both breast volume and tumour volume. Volume measurements are promising in outcome prediction of intended breast-conserving treatment.

ConclusionsA series of studies provide detailed information to understand lncRNA AFAP1-AS1 role in various human cancers. LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 is an oncogene in tumors that have been studied so far, and it may act as a useful tumor biomarker and therapeutic target.

Conclusion: ADC value calculation does not seem to be used as an alternative for histopathological detection, which is the gold standard for the differentiation of subtypes of malignant breast cancer. In addition, since there is a positive correlation between CR/S ratio and ADC values, it may be a strong marker to evaluate the stromal component of lesions. MONDAY, Aug. 20, 2018 -- Treatment with lumpectomy and radiotherapy is associated with a reduction in breast cancer mortality versus lumpectomy or mastectomy alone among patients with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), according to a study published...

Spectroscopic and histological examination is focused on lung cross-sections derived from animals at the early phase of metastasis (early micrometastasis, EM) as compared to h...

Khan, Shilin YangAbstractSix undescribed withanolides were isolated and characterized during the investigation of anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic constituents from the whole plants of Physalis minima L. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analyses (IR, UV, HR-ESI-MS, 1D-NMR, and 2D-NMR), and their anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic activities were evaluated in vitro. All the compounds exhibited anti-inflammatory ability ...

AbstractPurpose of the ReviewBrain metastasis is a common complication of advanced malignancies, especially, lung cancer, breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Traditionally surgery, when indicated, and radiation therapy, either as whole-brain radiation therapy or stereotactic radiosurgery, constituted the major treatment options for brain metastases. Until recently, most of the systemic chemotherapy agents had limited activity for brain metastases. However, with the advent of small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors and immunotherapy agents, there has been renewed interest in using these agents in the manage...

Authors: Boughdad S, Nioche C, Orlhac F, Jehl L, Champion L, Buvat I Abstract Background: To help interpret measurements in breast tissue and breast tumors from 18F-FDG PET scans, we studied the influence of age in measurements of PET parameters in normal breast tissue and in a breast cancer (BC) population. Results: 522 women were included: 331 pts without history of BC (B-VOI) and 191 patients with BC (T-VOI). In B-VOI, there were significant differences between all age groups for Standardized Uptake Values (SUVs) and for 12 textural indices (TI) whereas histogram-based indices (HBI) did not vary between age ...

Trastuzumab and pertuzumab are monoclonal antibodies used for the treatment of breast cancer. Until now, there have been no reports on the use of pertuzumab during pregnancy and on its potential effects on the fetus. Herein, we present a breast cancer patient who received trastuzumab and pertuzumab treatment during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy. This 22-year-old patient initially diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast was found to be negative for estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor and positive for human epidermal growth factor receptor in the immunohistochemical examination. At the time of diagno...

We previously demonstrated that CA-MSCs differentially express BMP genes, promote tumor cell growth, increase cancer ‘stemness’ and chemotherapy resistance. Here we use RNA sequencing of normal omental MSCs and ovarian CA-MSCs to demonstrate CA-MSCs have gl...
