183: Buprenorphine prescribing in pregnancy- Post MOTHER practice patterns

Opioid abuse by pregnant women has reached epidemic proportions. Consequently, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) has increased 5-fold since 2000. Opioid substitution therapy with methadone was first line but the MOTHER study (2010) suggested buprenorphine may be an acceptable alternative. Our objective was to assess current practice patterns among US providers caring for opioid-dependent pregnant women.
