Assessment of the Relationship between Pelvic Tilt and the Sacro-Femoral-Pubic Angle in Middle-Aged and Elderly Asian Individuals.

Conclusions: A significant correlation between PT and the SFP angle was observed in middle-aged and elderly Asian subjects from the general population. PMID: 29279754 [PubMed]

Authors: Liu Peterson S, Scott Donoughe J, O'Neal D, Mombell K, GomezLeonardelli D Abstract INTRODUCTION: The process for working up scaphoid fractures from frontline providers to the specialty care clinic is variable. Initial imaging can often be negative and the management algorithm is not clearly defined. Delays in diagnosis are a contributing factor to scaphoid nonunion. Fractures may not be identified by frontline providers on initial presentation because of radiographically occult injuries. If not treated promptly, scaphoid fractures may be complicated by nonunion, avascular necrosis, and osteoarthritis. ...

Conclusions: At T0 a significant prevalence of BMO lesions was observed both in SIJ and spine, with predominant involvement of thoracic district. Since positive MRI-spine images were observed in the absence of sacroiliitis, these findings seem to be relevant in the axSpA diagnosis. Early age of disease onset, long duration of LBP, increased inflammatory biomarkers, higher use of NSAIDs, male gender, HLA-B27 positivity, SPARCC SIJ score>2 appeared predictors of radiological damage and activity.

ConclusionGenerative approaches are very beneficial for data augmentation, where limited dataset size is prevalent, such as ultrasound bone segmentation. The proposed multiple-snapshot Pix2Pix approach has the potential to generate multimodal images, which enlarges the dataset considerably.

We report 4 cases of false negative chest X-Rays, in patients who were diagnosed positive for COVID-19 by real-time transverse-transcript-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and executed chest unenhanced CTs just after the X-Rays, demonstrating signs of COVID-19 pneumonia.

Conclusion  With new evidence emerging every day and with COVID-19 guidance and protocols adapting responsively, the national responses vary widely across the globe. However, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea have shown that aggressive and proactive testing plays a crucial role in containing the spread of the disease.  We believe AI has great potential for helping doctors quantify and monitor COVID progression from a patient’s chest X-rays – this will help determine treatment pathways faster and thus slow any surges in emergency cases. AI will also play a critical role in expanding screening for...

AbstractThe current global outbreak of COVID-19 represents a major challenge in terms of epidemiology, contagiousness, treatment, as well as clinical and radiological behavior of this disease. Radiological imaging plays a key role in the diagnostic process and during the monitoring of the clinical conditions especially of patients with severe symptoms. According to the preliminary data collected in our tertiary center, we have documented a peculiar behavior in patients requiring endotracheal intubation who underwent seriate chest X-rays. In fact, the radiological pattern of COVID-19 patients may worsen despite a prompt ame...
