Publication date: February 2018 Source:Phytochemistry Letters, Volume 23 Author(s): Ilham Abdullah, Souwalak Phongpaichit, Supayang Piyawan Voravuthikunchai, Wilawan Mahabusarakam The green branches extract of Garcinia dulcis was studied in the search for biflavonoids. Two new prenylated biflavonoids, named dulcisbiflavonoid B (1) and dulcisbiflavonoid C (2), along with 6 previously reported biflavonoids and flavonoids were isolated from the acetone extract of the green branches of G. dulcis. The structures of the isolates were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and the data was compared with those previously reported. Antimicrobial activities of some isolated compounds were evaluated. Graphical abstract
