Conclusion: Since stage-specific survival is similar in Kuwait and the US, late stage at diagnosis is likely to be a major contributing factor to the overall lower survival in Kuwait than in the US. Increasing public awareness of cancer risk factors and symptoms and investment in early detection will be vital to reduce the proportion of patients diagnosed at a late stage and to improve survival. ConclusionsAlcohol consumption was minimally associated with all-cancer risk. Cigarette smoking clearly increased all-cancer risk, with females being more affected than males. Combined use of alcohol and tobacco increased the risk of developing all, colon, and prostate cancers. A “U-shaped” multiplicative interaction was observed for breast cancer when alcohol and tobacco were used in combination.

In conclusion, our data show how oncogenic and tumor-suppressive drivers of cellular senescence act to regulate surveillance processes that can be circumvented to enable SnCs to elude immune recognition but can be reversed by cell surface-targeted interventions to purge the SnCs that persist in vitro and in patients. ConclusionsOverall risk of cancer in our MS cohort did not significantly differ from the controls. However, the age at diagnosis of breast cancer was statistically significantly higher among the MS patients in comparison with a control population from the same patient pool. Further population-based larger studies spanning longer follow-up periods and longer exposure to emerging MS therapies are needed to evaluate cancer risk related to MS treatments and breast cancer risk in particular.
