A brief mindfulness-based preventive intervention improves self-control and neuroplasticity: brain mechanisms and applications to mental disorders

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) presents the Integrative Medicine Research Lecture series.The series provides overviews of the current state of research and practice involving complementary health therapies, and explores perspectives on the emerging discipline of integrative medicine. Dr. Yi-Yuan Tang is a professor of Psychological Sciences, Presidential Endowed Chair in Neuroscience at Texas Tech University and founding Director of Texas Tech Neuroimaging Institute. Dr. Tang is also Adjunct Professor of Internal Medicine at TTU Health Science Center, Adjunct Professor, Dept. of Psychology, University of Oregon.
