Tufts Medical Center reaches tentative deal with nurses union

Christmas has come early for Tufts Medical Center. With some help from Boston Mayor Martin Walsh, the 1,200-member nurses union and hospital management agreed on a tentative contract on Monday night, putting to bed a 20-month process that resulted in two pickets, a one-day strike, a four-day lockout, and nearly 50 negotiating sessions. “I’m relieved we’re finally done with this process,” said Mary Cornacchia, co-chair of the bargaining committee and a Tufts nurse for 29 years, in an interview.…
