Transgluteal Prostatic Artery Embolization

An 82-year-old man with prostate carcinoma that had been treated with radiation therapy presented with recurrent daily hematuria and symptomatic anemia. He had previously undergone unilateral right prostatic artery (PA) embolization (PAE; Figs 1,2), resulting in complete cessation of hematuria for 9 months and no urinary retention. Bilateral embolization was not performed because of a history of coil embolization of the left internal iliac artery associated with previous endovascular repair of an aortic aneurysm.
