An Unusual Presentation of Iatrogenic Cushing ’s Syndrome

Anjani Cushing’s syndrome (CS) constitutes a constellation of clinical features that result from chronic exposure to excess glucocorticoids of any etiology. Endogenous excess of glucocorticoids secondary to pituitary or adrenal tumors is rare, while the exogenous use of glucocorticoids leading to the CS is common. The latter is termed as Iatrogenic Cushing’s Syndrome (ICS). The patients with ICS usually present with obesity, proximal muscle weakness. On evaluation, they have diastolic hypertension, hirsutism, osteopenia, diabetes mellitus and are at risk of thromboembolic complications. The presentation of ICS with Pulmonary Thrombo Embolism (PTE) in a young male is rare and hence being presented.
