United Medical Center needs more than $17.1 million in subsidies from the District to cover increased expenses and declining admissions. In a statement Tuesday evening, the hospital's outgoing operator, Veritas of Washington, said the hospital's finance committee will present the request Wednesday to UMC's full board. The D.C.
