Thoracic surgery may improve outcome for bilateral cavitary multidrug- and extensively drug-resistant TB

Conclusions: Data suggest that adjunctive thoracic surgery improves outcome for bilateral cavitary multi- and extensively drug-resistant TB. Patients with extensively drug-resistant TB may need extended treatment scheme to achieve favourable result.
