Inflammation of airways and results of 6-MWT at smokers with bronchial asthma

Examined 16 healthy smokers (control group - CG) and 16 patients with persistent asthma (main group – MG) with different levels of disease control.Patients with bronchial asthma revealed the dependence (p<0.05) between the level of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and intensity of Smoking (r=0,60) and increased pack/years index (r=0.53).
