Sensitisation to mouse allergens in contemporary laboratory animal practice

Conclusion: In contemporary practice, the prevalence of sensitisation to mouse proteins is low and significantly lower in those who have only worked in IVC units. Our results suggest it is possible to run a unit without sensitising any workers; these findings will be used to develop an evidence-based "Code of best practice" for facilities using IVC systems.
