Community-Acquired Pneumococcal Pneumonia in Virologically Suppressed HIV-Infected Adult Patients: A Matched Case-Control Study
Conclusion: This study describes a subpopulation of hospitalized virologically suppressed HIV-infected patients on ART with >350 CD4 cells/mm3 and pneumococcal pneumonia in whom clinical presentation and outcomes did not differ from uninfected patients. The management of these HIV-infected patients should be the same as for HIV-uninfected and should be included in the CAP guidelines
