Indications and complications of flexible bronchoscopy in very elderly patients

Conclusions: Main indications are different in both groups. FB can be safely performed as adverse events are unusual and regularly not severe. The occurrence of complications was higher in the very elderly group. Poorer functional status was the greatest risk factor. To our knowledge, this is the first study that examines the indication and safety profile in the largest population of very elderly pts with a higher age cutoff.
