The impact of concomitant somatopsychic disorders (SPD) on quality of life (QL) of chronCOPD patients

206 COPD patients (age - (64,4±0,8) yrs, males - 158) and 100 healthy individuals (age - (61,5±1,3) yrs, males - 56) were examined by traditional pulmonological methods, standardized psychological questionnaires (The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SRDS), The Wasserman scale of neurotization level (LN), assessment of QL by International questionnaire MOS SF-36. The inspection of psychological status of respondents showed that 42 (20.4%) COPD patients had the clinically meaningful syndrome (SPD), which manifested by detection high levels of all scales. Among healthy individuals SPD syndrome was defined in 2 (2%) of the respondents (p <0.01). The QL parameters in patients COPD were significantly lower (p <0,001) than in healthy persons. Moreover the average scores of all parameters of QL in COPD patients with SPD significantly (p <0,001) lower, than patients without mental disorders (table 1).
