Prevalence of Latent Infection with Mycobacterium Tuberculosis in Interstitial Lung Diseases Using Interferon Gamma Release Assay
Conclusion: Sarcoidosis may cause an immune paresis preventing the acquisition of QFT positivity. Further investigation is required to determine whether there is a group of older patients with sarcoidosis and LTBI who have a false negative QFT and would be at risk of activation of their TB if treated with anti-TNF-alpha agents.
