Does Involvement in Global Health Reduce Perceived Radiologist Burnout?

Burnout prevention is a necessary consideration for physicians, including radiologists. The condition is characterized by emotional exhaustion, a sense of inefficacy, and cynicism [1,2]. The burnout rate for radiologists is approximately 50%, as  reported by Medscape and other surveys [3,4]. Many physicians express frustrations related to an inability to achieve change, an overload of bureaucratic tasks, and a feeling of being just a cog in the wheel of the health care system [4,5]. The issue affects radiologists at all levels of traini ng, including resident physicians [6,7].
