ConclusionsUrinary tract infection remains the commonest source of systemic infection among kidney transplant recipients and resistance to commonly used frontline antibiotics is common; thus, prevention and early detection are paramount. The appropriate choice of initial empirical antibiotic is vital to improve the outcome.
