ConclusionThe main meridians chosen in acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of GA were the Spleen, Liver, Stomach, Kidney and Large Intestine Meridians, conforming to the syndrome differentiation principle of tonifying spleen and kidney, clearing heat and draining dampness. Points mainly locate at lower limbs and feet around the affected area, which was a reflection of peripheral treatment function of points. The data mining results of meridian and point selection in acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of GA conform to the disease and syndrome differentiation theory and provide references for acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of GA.

In this study, we presented a brief report of an adult lumbar epidermoid cyst and introduced another surgical approach.Patient concerns:This 28-year-old woman has been complaining of the severe right buttock pain and right thigh radiating pain for half a year. She had been diagnosed as sacroiliitis, spinal arthritis, and lumbar disc herniation at 3 different hospitals before coming to our hospital. AbstractThe purposes of this study are to determine and compare efficacy of laser acupuncture versus reflexology in elderly with rheumatoid arthritis. Thirty elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis aged between 60 and 70  years were classified into two groups, 15 patients each. Group A received laser acupuncture therapy (904 nm, beam area of 1cm2, power 100  mW, power density 100 mW/cm2, energy dosage 4  J, energy density 4 J/cm2, irradiation time 40  s, and frequency 100,000 Hz). The acupuncture points that were exposed to laser radiation are LR3, ST25, ST36, SI3, SI4, LI4, LI11,...

AbstractObjectiveTo observe the effect of moxibustion on the expressions of tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF-α) and nuclear transcription factor kappa B (NF-κB) proteins in ankle joints of rats with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and to explore the anti-inflammatory mechanism of moxibustion in the treatment of RA.MethodsAdjuvant arthritis (AA) rat models were induced and used as rat models of RA. Rats were randomly divided into a normal group, a model group, a moxibustion group and a saline group. Rats in the normal and model groups were not treated; rats in the moxibustion group accepted treatment by moxibustio...

AbstractObjectiveTo observe the effect of different moxibustion durations on rats with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and to evaluate the relationship between moxibustion amount and moxibustion efficacy.MethodsEight rats were randomly selected as a normal group from the 40 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats, and the other 32 rats were used to establish type II collagen-induced RA models. After successful modeling, the 32 rats were randomly divided into a model group, a moxibustion for 20 min group, a moxibustion for 40 min group and a moxibustion for 60 min group, with 8 rats in each group. Rats in the normal group did not receive m...
