Editorial Comment

“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” Innovations in medicine arise from challenging accepted traditions, and this quote (often attributed to Schopenhauer) may describe many innovations in th e past, present and future. The authors report clinical outcomes of an innovation, ureteral clipping for low or nonfunctioning renal moieties, after previously reporting a smaller series (reference 4 in article).
