Bio Question - Transcription

So i'm a bit confused by this BC explanation.. In prokaryotic cells, RNA polymerase can directly detect the promoter region in the DNA. In eukaryotic cells RNA polymerase cannot directly detect the promoter region, and requires the binding of transcription factors in order to initiate transcription. From what I understand prokaryotes need a sigma factor to bind to the core enzyme to form the holoenzyme in order to recognize and bind to the -35 & -10 promotor region. Am...
