Florida Blue to stop covering controversial opiates

Jacksonville-based Florida Blue, the leading health insurer in Florida, has announced that it will no longer cover OxyContin starting Jan. 1, 2018 in its commercial insurance lines. The move is in response to a nationwide opioid epidemic. President Donald Trump declared a National Public Health Emergency regarding the opioid epidemic in October, and Gov.
