J & J ’ s Ethicon wins $39m DoD contract for surgical supplies

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) subsidiary Ethicon has won a $39 million contract with the US Department of Defense to supply it with medical surgical products, according to a DoD release. The deal has a one-year base with nine one-year option periods, and is a fixed-price with economic price adjustment, indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contract. Through the contract, Ethicon will supply medical surgical products to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. The company won out against 7 responses received for the contract, according to the DoD release. The contract comes with a prformance completion date of November 2, 2027. Late last week, Ethicon broke ground on a new factory in China’s Jiangsu province, according to a report from China Daily.
