Commentary on: diffusion-weighted imaging evaluation across different platforms: why is reproducibility essential in medical imaging?

The advent of picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) has brought about the ability to report medical imaging studies at a number of potential locations remote from the primary acquisition site, eased correlation of multiple imaging studies of an individual case, and enabled more sophisticated image analysis. Imaging analysis is becoming progressively more complex with the increased use of post-processing, for instance, utilising regions of interest (ROI) to interrogate specific areas of acquired studies.
