Non-surgical fibroid treatment in the pipeline
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted pharmaceutical company Allergan ’s application for U.S. sales of an oral treatment for uterine fibroids, a condition that causes excessive bleeding and that is most commonly treated with a hysterectomy.
Two other companies, Bayer and AbbeVie, also are developing oral medications indicated to treat uterine fibroids, per The Wal l Street Journal.
