Thromboses and Cholangiocarcinoma

The publication “Arterial Thromboses Heralding Cholangiocarcinoma” is interesting.1 Indeed, thrombosis is a big hematologic problem seen in several cancers. With a focus on cholangiocarcinoma, thrombosis is not common. We would like to share our experience from Southeast Asia, where the incidence of cholangioca rcinoma is extremely high. In the previous observation on 62 Thai cases with cholangiocarcinoma, there is no case with thrombosis.2 In addition, most patients with cholangiocarcinoma usually have the bleeding tendency due to prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time.
