Sarcopenia in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: prevalence and related clinical factors

ConclusionsAfter clarifying the prevalence of sarcopenia in elderly Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, we found that serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein was significantly higher in female patients with sarcopenia than in female patients without sarcopenia. Elevated serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein requires impaired muscle mass and impaired strength.
