134 Implantable cardioverter defibrillator use in octogenarians

Introduction: Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) have international guideline endorsement as a therapy to reduced sudden cardiac death in patients with severe systolic cardiac dysfunction. However, their role in octogenarians is uncertain. We sought to describe current practice pertaining to octogenarians and ICD implantation at a tertiary referral centre.
