51 Cardiac arrest in the absence of an acute coronary artery occlusion: characteristics and outcomes of patients with primary arrhythmic arrest in a UK tertiary centre

Background: In the UK there are approximately 60,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests (OOHCA) per year, of which 30,000 are treated by the emergency services. The majority have a cardiac cause, primarily coronary artery disease. Our centre adopts an early invasive strategy for OOHCA patients with all cases undergoing immediate coronary angiography. We sought to evaluate the characteristics, investigations and follow up of OOHCA patients receiving immediate coronary angiography, in whom no coronary culprit was identified.
