39 Application of the novel ‘shanghai’ diagnostic criteria for brugada syndrome reduces the number of diagnoses with low risk of arrhythmic events in index cases

Introduction: Current expert consensus states that the diagnosis of Brugada Syndrome (BrS) requires only the presence, either spontaneous or provoked, of a type 1 Brugada ECG pattern in a single ECG lead. Recently a novel diagnostic scoring system, the ‘Shanghai criteria’, was developed encompassing additional diagnostic requirements related to clinical and familial characteristics. This scoring system has not yet been validated however.
