Evaluating the relationship between white matter integrity, cognition, and varieties of  video game learning.

CONCLUSION: Although cognition, to a large extent, was a common predictor of both types of game learning, regional white matter FA could separately predict action and strategy game learning. Given the neural and cognitive correlates of strategy game learning, strategy games may provide a more beneficial training tool for adults suffering from memory-related disorders or declines in processing speed, particularly older adults. To ensure a covalent integration between PP surface and functional UV-curable coatings, 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl acrylate (TMSPA) was functionalized on the surface of oxidized PP film. Two distinct UV-curable coatings differing ...

However, its main drawback is rapid catalytic deactivation by heavy hydrocarbons confined inside the cages. Here, we report a facile synthetic strategy for submi...

We report the fabrication of bimetallic NiCo2Se4 and CoNi2Se4 nanostructures on nickel-foam (Ni-foam) substrates via a potentiostatic-deposition method by adjusting the molar ratio of Ni and Co metals. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses show that burl-like clusters with characteristic fluffy NiCo2Se4 and flake-like CoNi2Se4 hierarchical structures were deposited on the Ni-foam substrates. When used as battery-type electrodes in supercapacitors, both NiCo2Se4 and CoNi2Se4 electrodes exhibited outstanding capacity and good electrochemical properties. The CoNi2Se4 electrode ...

The aging behaviour of HPT-processed samples was systematically studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, high resolution high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM) and hardness testing. We found that the optimal aging ...

ConclusionsThese results provide evidence that the impaired cognitive flexibility of OCD may be associated with dysfunctions of the brain network from the dorsal caudate (DC) to important nodes of the salience network. Our results extend the neuropsychological model of OCD by showing intrinsically different associations between OCD and HC in functional network and cognitive flexibility.

Whenever we talk about IVF cycles, our focus is usually on the woman. This is understandable , because she's the one who has to take the injections, go for the scans, undergo the egg collection and embryo transfer process, and live through the 2 week wait. And all the husband needs to do is to give a semen sample !However, the reality is that the husband also suffers a lot of heartbreak and pain. This is especially acute when the reason for the infertility is a problem with his sperm. He feels very guilty that his wife is having to go through all the pain of an IVF cycle this because he's not able to get her pregnant i...

Publication date: Available online 14 September 2019Source: Thermochimica ActaAuthor(s): Akihiko TodaAbstractThe recrystallization behavior of poly(ethylene terephthalate), PET, in the melting region was examined by Fast-Scan and Temperature-Modulated Calorimetry. In addition to the prior results of Fast-Scan Calorimetry, FSC, evidence that recrystallization caused double PET melting peaks was obtained. An exothermic recrystallization peak was directly observed in the second heating run of FSC after the lower-temperature melting peak was eliminated through rapid heating and cooling. FSC was then performed with a temperatur...

The microstructure, corrosion behavior, and mechanical properties were analyzed. Electrochemical and immersion techniques were applied for corrosion behavior analysis. Moreover, scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy (SKPFM) was utilized to measure the surface Volta-potential. It was found that an increase in SR temperature decreased the strength by increasing the grain size and reduc...
