UNF student creates interactive tumors in virtual reality
Jason Smith extended his hand and took hold of nothing. He twisted the empty air, positioning it just so.
A thick pair of black goggles strapped to Smith's head revealed what lookers-on could not see: A malignant tumor nearly the size of his palm.
The goggles, dubbed VRvisu, are a virtual reality headset designed and created by Smith, a senior at the University of North Florida. Using the headset, me dical professionals can see 3-D renderings of 16 brain tumors.
