Precision Cancer Medicine and Super-computing System.

Precision Cancer Medicine and Super-computing System. Keio J Med. 2017;66(3):54 Authors: Wakai T Abstract Precision Cancer Medicine: Tumors are classified into several molecular subtypes by Genomic Sequencing. Comprehensive targeted-gene panel provides more therapeutic options. CANCERPLEX-JP version 4.0 includes 435 actionable genes, which clinical approaches are available. Utilizing the gene panel platform, we assessed the genes and pathways most frequently altered in Japanese and US cases (Genome Med 2016;8:136). We demonstrate concordance of CANCERPLEX-JP with whole-exome sequencing from the TCGA in identifying hypermutated samples and microsatellite instability in multiple cancer types, such as colorectal and gastric cancer. We introduced our activity for precision medicine at 4th US-Japan Clinical Trials in Oncology Workshop sponsored by Embassy of Japan, at Washington DC, held in June 9, 2016. We highlight the clinical utility of CANCERPLEX-JP (435 genes) in guiding treatment strategies with targeted therapy in solid tumors, thus providing rationale for Comprehensive Genomic Sequencing in actualizing precision medicine. The goal of Precision Medicine is cost effectiveness and realization of genome drug discovery.Super-computing System: This introduction plan is based on the massive medical big data (cancer gene mutation information, genomic data, image data, etc.) possessed by Niigata Prefecture and Niigata University, to construct an integrated an...

Gastric adenomas are neoplastic with similar microscopic findings to those seen in colonic adenomas. Around 8-59% of gastric adenomas are associated with synchronous gastric carcinoma and hence repeat upper endoscopic surveillance after one year is usually recommended. On the other hand, the data has been scarce and inconsistent with regards to their association with colonic polyps and colorectal cancer. We aimed to analyze the previously published literature evaluating the association between gastric neoplasm and colonic polyps and colorectal cancer.

Isorhamnetin Induces Melanoma Cell Apoptosis via the PI3K/Akt and NF-κB Pathways. Biomed Res Int. 2020;2020:1057943 Authors: Duan R, Liang X, Chai B, Zhou Y, Du H, Suo Y, Chen Z, Li Q, Huang X Abstract Malignant melanoma is characterized by its bad prognosis for aggressiveness, drug resistance, and early metastasis. Isorhamnetin (3'-methoxy-3,4',5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone; IH) is a natural flavonoid that has been investigated for its antitumor effects in breast cancer, colon cancer, and gastric cancer through inducing cell apoptosis. Given its role in tumor inhibition, no research has been conducte...

CONCLUSIONS: People with schizophrenia do not have a higher overall incidence of cancer than people in the general population. However, there are significant differences in the risk of specific cancer types overall and by sex calling for efforts to develop disease-specific prevention programmes. In people with schizophrenia, higher risk generally occurs in those

Abstract Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the possible role of dietray TAC against different types of cancers in a systematic review and meta-analyses of observational studies. Methods: A literature search of authentic electronic resources had been performed to obtain the relevant studies up to February 2020. Results: Twenty-one studies including nine prospective and twelve case-control studies were included in the current systematic review and meta-analysis. These studies have included 1404297 individuals. Higher TAC categories were associated with 21% reduced risk of colorectal cancer, 27% reduced risk of endome...

ConclusionsExposure to PM2.5 air pollution contributes to lung cancer mortality and may be a risk factor for other cancer types. Cigarette smoking has a larger impact on cancer mortality than PM2.5 , but is associated with similar cancer types.
