ConclusionPreoperative SCSA of the semispinalis cervicis was a risk factor for LCL after laminoplasty. ConclusionPatients with limited cervical extension and a history of previous radiotherapy might have difficult hypopharyngeal exposure during transoral surgery. This is the first report to suggest a classification system for hypopharyngeal exposure during transoral surgery.
Conclusions:PI and FBI showed a significant correlation with both ODI and SRS-22 scores. PI-LL mismatch was strongly correlated with disability in high PI patients. Our study results may indicate that it is important to pay attention to the PI value in addition to the spinopelvic relationship.Level of Evidence: II, prospective study
CONCLUSIONS MIS techniques did not achieve optimal spinopelvic alignment in most cases. However, age appears to impact the degree of sagittal correction required. In older patients, optimal spinopelvic alignment thresholds did not need to be achieved to obtain similar symptomatic improvement. Conclusions: Patient-reported outcome measures are underutilized in the pediatric orthopaedic literature. Instruments are frequently used that are neither designed nor validated for a pediatric population. Consequently, further work is necessary to develop, validate, and implement pediatric-specific FHS and HRQoL tools to fully understand the impact of a clinical intervention on all aspects of patient quality of life.
Conclusions: Patients with AIS show alterations in scapular kinematics that are associated with shoulder pathology. Despite displaying an unaffected ability to place the hand in space, the underlying joint mechanics place these adolescents at risk for future pathology. Accordingly, consideration of scapulothoracic and glenohumeral joint function is warranted in the treatment of AIS. Level of Evidence: Level III—cross-sectional comparison.
