Evaluating Integrative Approaches for Fibromyalgia in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PM & R)

The aim of this research was to evaluate integrative approaches for fibromyalgia In PM&R as an alternative or a complementary approach to SOC (Standard of care); PM&R and integrative medicine approaches like acupuncture or laser therapy share similar goals and methods. These approaches not only focus on the disease itself but on the patient. Therefore, the patient ’s quality of life, physical, psychological, social and behavioral factors are also be taken into account; This integrated approach allows a holistic interpretation of the clinical picture of the patient, when it concerns multi-factorial and complex pathologies such as Fibromyalgia.
