Don't kill passive oxygenation with continuous oxygen insufflation too fast in cardiac arrest ventilation
The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) guidelines have introduced passive oxygen delivery as a possibility for the management of oxygenation for patients in cardiac arrest (AC). Until further investigations are undertaken, this oxygenation modality without ventilation is not routinely recommended during cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) [1]. Though, in the presence of a patent airway, chest compressions alone may result in some ventilation, and oxygen can be delivered passively via an adapted tracheal tube [2].
