We investigated the association between FGF-23 concentration and peripheral AS in renal transplantation (RT) recipients.MethodsThe fasting blood samples of RT recipients (n=66) were collected and analyzed.ResultsA total of 29 (43.9%) RT recipients were classified under the peripheral AS group. The RT recipients in this group had a hig...

CONCLUSION: In a porcine DCD model of 9 hours CSP followed by four hours of EVLP the use of modified Custodiol-N as perfusion solution was feasible and associated with higher oxygen capacity than STEEN SolutionTM. The addition of albumin seems to further stabilize lung function. PMID: 32051744 [PubMed]

We report central invasive haemodynamic parameters at rest and exercise during a 3 year follow‐up after HTx in a sub‐study of the SCandiavian Heart transplant Everolimus De novo stUdy with earLy calcineurin inhibitor avoidancE trial. We hypothesized that the nephroprotective properties, the less development of cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV), and the antifibrotic properties of EVR, in comparison with CNI‐based immunosuppression, would demonstrate favourable invasive haemodynamic profiles in patients at rest and during exercise. Methods and resultsNinety of 115 HTx recipients randomized to EVR or CNI treatment per...

Jasminka Godnic-Cvar Kidney transplantation (KTx) in end-stage renal disease is associated with a significant increase in quality of life (QoL) and self-perceived health, optimally leading to the maintenance of employment or return to work (RTW) in working-age patients. The aim of this study was to assess individual factors including the QoL and mental health of kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) associated with employment after transplantation. A cross-sectional study including working-age patients with a history of KTx after 2012 was conducted at two Austrian study centers (Vienna and Graz). Brief Symptom Invento...

CONCLUSION: the health-related quality of life of people with chronic kidney disease after transplantation ranged from good to excellent. The presence of depression was not identified. The relationship of data indicates that the higher the quality of life, the better the self-esteem assessment. PMID: 32049246 [PubMed - in process]

Conclusions: The current anastomosis method with polyimide stent causes minimal damage to the ureteral walls and minimizes the possibility of stent migration. Therefore, this method of ureteral anastomosis with the polyimide stent should be explored for its potential benefits in more animal kidney transplantation models, thus providing an alternative for the clinical setting. CONCLUSION: A 54-year-old man developed oral ulceration after 7 months of MMF therapy. Discontinuation of therapy resulted in prompt resolution of the patient's ulcers, with no recurrence of ulceration at a lower MMF dose. This is the first case report indicating that mycophenolate-induced ulceration may be dose dependent. PMID: 32058566 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
