Novel Personalized Care Directions for Gliomas

NCI ’ s Center for Cancer Research (CCR) Grand Rounds Dr. Arnab Chakravarti is Chair and Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Arthur G. James Hospital, Richard J. Solove Research Institute, Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he also holds the Klotz Family Chair of Cancer Research and serves as the Director of the Brain Tumor Program. Nationally, he is Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Neuro-Radiation Biology, Board of Directors of the Ohio Neuro-Oncology Consortium, Chair of the Radiation Therapy and Oncology Group (RTOG) Brain Tumor Translational Research Subcommittee and Co-Chair of the RTOG Brain Tumor Committee. Dr. Chakravarti ’ s leadership roles in these organizations have led to translational research studies that currently define the standard-of-care for patients with CNS and other solid tumors. His research focus is on translational cancer research, including genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic profiling aimed at detecting novel tumor biomarkers that correlate with treatment efficacy and survival. Dr. Chakravarti has served as Principal Investigator (PI) on NIH K08, R01, RC2, U10, ACA, and K12 grants and has trained over 1000 students, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows over the course of his career.Air date: 9/8/2017 12:00:00 PM
