Hospital Evacuation Decision Guide

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. 08/2017 This Web page provides a decision guide for post-event or post-disaster evacuations that have occurred either following Advanced Warning Events (i.e., if the decision was made to shelter-in-place during the event, but subsequent damage was sufficient to necessitate evacuation) or during No Advanced Warning Events. No Advanced Warning Events include earthquakes, building fires, tornadoes, and explosions (both accidental and terrorist acts). The guide provides examples of hospital evacuations during the Three Mile Island nuclear incident and Hurricane Katrina. (Text)
