Differential effects of Zincum metallicum on cell models.

CONCLUSIONS: Differing responses and non-linearity were found on macrophages challenged with Zincum metallicum at high dilutions. No changes in melanoma cells were observed. Customised assays using target cells can be useful to investigate high-dilution effects. Other cell types and conditions should be explored. PMID: 28844290 [PubMed - in process]

The chemokine MIP3α (CCL20) binds to CCR6 on immature dendritic cells. Vaccines fusing MIP3α to gp100 have been shown to be effective in therapeutically reducing melanoma tumor burden and prolonging survival in a mouse model. Other studies have provided evidence that interleukin-10 (IL-10) neutralizing antibodies (αIL-10) enhance immunologic melanoma therapies by modulating the tolerogenic tumor microenvironment. In the current study, we have utilized the B16F10 syngeneic mouse melanoma model to demonstrate for the first time that a therapy neutralizing IL-10 enhances the antitumor efficacy of a MIP3&alph...

Conclusion We report the clinical and genomic landscape of a patient with MPTs who had no identifiable unique somatic or germline mutations to explain her predilection to cancer. The treatment course and overall prognosis for this patient is important for understanding future cases with unrelated, metachronous MPTs, the occurrence of which cannot always be explained by underlying genetic mechanisms.

We report that the HDAC inhibitor C1A increased AAVP-mediated transgene expression by up to ~9-fold. These findings indicate that selective HDAC inhibition is a promising adjuvant treatment for increasing the therapeutic value of AAVP.

CONCLUSION: We report a severe adverse event from pembrolizumab therapy resulting in uveitis and persistent hypotony. Repeat injections of high viscosity OVD achieved an increase in IOP up to 12 months. This technique may be a useful adjuvant or alternative to PPV and SO. Accuracy of Skin Cancer Diagnosis by Physician Assistants Compared With Dermatologists Randomly saw this article, and figured I'd post it here. Research on primary care (methodological objections aside) consistently shows that midlevels provide similar outcomes to physicians, enabling independent practice in an increasing number of States. I've gotten worried that that trend would extend to other medical... Compared with dermatologists, physician assistants have lower diagnostic accuracy for melanoma.

FRIDAY, April 20, 2018 -- Physician assistants (PAs) perform more skin biopsies per case of skin cancer diagnosed and diagnose fewer melanomas in situ than dermatologists, according to a study published online April 18 in JAMA Dermatology. Alyce M....
