Enzyme produced in the liver promotes obesity, fatty liver disease and insulin resistance

In mice given a high fat diet, an increased production of the enzyme DPP4 by the liver promotes an increase in body fat, the development of fatty liver disease and insulin resistance. According to the study, published in Molecular Metabolism, DPP4 production is therefore a cause rather than result of fatty liver and insulin resistance.Science Daily
