The relationship between area deprivation and contact with community intellectual disability psychiatry

ConclusionsIn the area under study, contact with ID psychiatry was greater in more deprived areas. Given the high psychiatric morbidity of people with ID, if services do not adjust for deprivation, this may lead to further discrimination in an already disadvantaged population.
