Doug Wolfberg Chosen as Interim Chair for Nation ’s First EMS Interstate Compact Commission

Mechanicsburg, PA – Page, Wolfberg & Wirth, the National EMS Industry Law Firm is proud to announce that founding partner, Douglas Wolfberg, has been selected as the interim chairperson for the Recognition of EMS Personal Licensure CompAct (REPLICA). REPLICA is intended to facilitate the day to day movement of EMS personnel across state boundaries, by allowing EMS offices to afford immediate legal recognition to EMS personnel licensed in a member state. REPLICA model legislation provides a formal pathway to recognize an EMS provider’s ability to practice in multiple states without having to carry multiple licenses. Doug Wolfberg said: “I was honored to be chosen to chair this initiative, and I believe this is long overdue.” He is feels this Compact is important because “the EMS workforce is increasingly mobile, and REPLICA can effectively address national security issues where resources must be mobilized across several states.” Current REPLICA member states include Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wyoming. Each member state is allowed one seat on the Commission and this will serve as the Compact’s governing body. Member state representatives will be officially seated on the Interstate Commission for EMS Personnel Practice (Interstate Commission) during the first meeting being held October 7-8, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
