Have you all been using multimodal anesthesia? If so, what? My current choices are listed below. In pre-op holding: Acetaminophen 975 mg PO Celebrex 400 mg PO Gabapentin 600 mg PO At the start of anesthesia: 50 mg/kg MgSO4 IV On certain cases I will add 10 mg dexamethasone to the bupivacaine for the local. Patients complained about nausea when I've used OxyContin pre-op so I stopped. I think what's made the most noticeable drop in post-op pain... Multimodal anesthesia

CONCLUSION: LPC conditioning prior to LV vector delivery, substantially enhanced the level of conducting airway gene expression after a single gene vector delivery. These results extend the previously established effectiveness of this protocol for producing gene expression in the nasal airways to the lung airways, the primary site of deleterious pathophysiology in CF individuals. Authors: Weinstock FJ, Weinstock MB Abstract Preview How is dacryocystitis in infants treated? What are the common causes of conjunctivitis? Why is patients' use of anesthetic eye-drops dangerous? In this article, the authors describe some of the more common eye conditions that can be treated in the primary care office and point out several important ways to avoid potentially serious, even vision-threatening, consequences. AbstractPurposeThe present study aimed to compare the concentration of isoflurane and sevoflurane in the individual ’s breathing zone and ambient air of operating rooms (ORs), to investigate the correlation between breathing zone levels and urinary concentrations, and to evaluate the ORs pollution in the different working hours and weeks.MethodsEnvironmental and biological concentrations of isoflurane and sevoflurane were evaluated at 9ORs. Air samples were collected by active sampling method and urine samples were collected from each subject at the end of the work shift. All samples were analyzed using gas chromatog...

Conclusion: The etiology of the movements of the congenital peripapillary staphyloma in our patient may include a misbalance between intraocular pressure and orbital cerebrospinal fluid pressure or contractions of extraocular muscles. The observations may give information about the physiology and pathophysiology of the optic nerve head.

Conclusion: Although it is not normally the first treatment of choice, orthodontically assisted impacted tooth removal is an alternative that can minimize the risk of compromised periodontium or injury to the adjacent tooth and the inferior alveolar nerve, as well as the risk of mandibular fracture, in complicated cases.

Senzime, a company based in Uppsala, Sweden, won European CE Mark approval for its TetraGraph device that’s indicated as a tool that allows anesthesiologists to monitor patients that received neuromuscular blockers during surgery. The device electrically stimulates a peripheral ulnar nerve on the hand and detects how the related muscles are reacting electrically (electromyography, aka EMG). The TetraGraph requires no calibration, takes less than 30 seconds to boot up and setup, and uses disposable sensors to prevent bugs from jumping between patients. The arm can stay under the surgical drape as no access to the...
