Comparison between treatment effects in a randomised controlled trial and an observational study using propensity scores in primary care

Analysis of a RCT and observational study (OS) comparing the effects of amoxicillin in LRTIs suggests that if information on potential sources of confounding is available, effects of interventions can be assessed and compared reasonably within both trial designs.
