Promoting long-term functional improvement after cognitive remediation in schizophrenia

Cognitive remediation interventions have emerged as effective approaches for treating core cognitive impairments in people with schizophrenia. The efficacy of these approaches has been demonstrated in early course (Fisher et al. 2015) and long-term (Hogarty et al. 2004) patients, with evidence of improved neurocognitive, social-cognitive, symptom, and functional outcomes (Kurtz and Mueser 2008; Wykes et al. 2011.
