[Newsdesk] Infectious disease surveillance update
Five patients have been admitted to hospital in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and tested positive for cutaneous anthrax. The patients had developed boils on their hands and fingers. The men are suspected to have eaten goat meat 20 days before symptoms developed; the meat could have been infected with anthrax and not properly cooked.
